What's changed compared to before?

OLD vs NEW pre-order rules

old - pre-order up to 12 months in advance
new - pre-order up to 18 months in advance

old - pre-order could be postponed once and 30 days max
new - pre-order can be postponed twice, for a total of up to 6 months

This is great, because sometimes you haven't finished writing the book, but you want to put a pre-order up, so you have a link to collect readers who have just finished the previous book and are anticipating the new release. But then something in your life happens that prevents you from meeting the deadline. And then you'd be penalized for losing the ability to create pre-orders for a year. With this change, it makes the whole process a little less stressful.

Now, eagerly awaiting the day when non-exclusive books can be scheduled for price changes, like everywhere else. Or when they add a bunch of Eastern European languages to the publishable languages.

If you have a pre-order whose deadline you're struggling to meet, check your account and postpone the release! Keep in mind that you can always, always release early if circumstances change.

And don't forget to screenshot when you're done with the upload and when you submit the pre-order! As we all know, Amazon sometimes glitches and if worst comes to worst, while you wouldn't be able to get those pre-orders back, you'd at least prove that you did everything correctly and you won't be penalized.
